Join the Transfer Student Center for our annual Transfer Kick off to welcome all new incoming transfer students to UCI! Students will learn more about the Transfer Student Center and the resources and services we provide to students to navigate campus successfully. New Students: Auditions for the academic year’s entire Main Stage Season (4 shows) take place in the fall Week 0 during our Mega Auditions (or "Megas"), where you'll have the chance to audition for all the Main Stage directors at one time. 

We encourage everyone to audition, even if you're unsure of your chances, because:

• You'll be seen by several directors who may cast future roles;
• It's a great way to demonstrate your unique skills;
• Auditioning is a vital skill to practice!

Megas are often your first introduction to faculty and other department members, which can positively impact your opportunities throughout the year.

The UCI Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Director of Orchestral Studies, Dr. Geoffrey Pope, is one of the premier large performance ensembles in the Department of Music. The orchestra has been in existence since 1966, offering music majors, non-majors, faculty and other community members an opportunity to study and perform symphonic music of the ages. Q. Who is eligible for a free sweatshirt?
A. All first year students who entered UCI during Fall 2025 are eligible to pick up their free sweatshirt this fall. This includes freshmen, first year transfer students, and first year graduate students.

Q. When can I pick up my sweatshirt?
A. Eligible students can pick up your sweatshirts by appointment during Welcome Week of fall quarter (September 23 - September 26). No walk ins will be accepted. 

Q. Do I need an appointment to pick up my sweatshirt?
A. Yes, all eligible students are required to have an appointment to pick up their sweatshirts. This helps us to regulate lines and crowds.

Q. I can't make the appointment times. Can someone else pick up my sweatshirt for me?
A. Yes, you may send a friend to pick up a sweatshirt for you. However, you must still schedule an appointment and when they arrive for your scheduled appointment (or theirs), they must show a copy of your confirmation email containing the QR code.


Q. Why can't I register for an appointment?
A. Only eligible students will have access to registering for an appointment. If you meet the eligibility requirements but are still unable to register, please contact us at alumni@uci.edu so we can verify your student status. 

Q. I see open appointment times, but the site won't let me register. What do I do?
A. If the site does not let you register for the selected time, that means the time is not available. Please select another time.

Q. I cancelled my original appointment, and now I can't make a new one. What do I do?
A. If you are using the website, please wait 15 minutes before trying again. If you are using the CampusGroups app, you will be able to re-register immediately. 

Q. I didn't complete my registration and now the site won't let me register. What do I do?
A. Try accessing the site from a different browser, and go through the registration process again.

Q. I don't have a UCI student ID card. Can I use another form of photo ID to check in for my appointment?
A. Yes any form of photo ID (i.e. drivers license, passport, state issued ID, etc.) is acceptable if you do not have a UCI student ID card yet. 

Q. Can my sweatshirt be shipped to me?
A. No, unfortunately we cannot ship any sweatshirts due to our limited resources and capacity. 

Q. How can I pick up my sweatshirt?
A. Sign up for an appointment during your desired date and time. Arrive promptly for your scheduled appointment outside the Newkirk Alumni Center and check in with our staff to confirm appointment. 

Q. Can I try on a sweatshirt on-site?
A. No, students are not permitted to try on their sweatshirt on-site. At your appointment, we will show you the different sizes available to choose from but we cannot permit try-ons.

Q. Can I exchange my sweatshirt for a different size? 
A. No. There are no exchanges allowed once the package is opened.

UCI Chamber Singers, an auditioned group of 42 singers, is the flagship ensemble of UCI’s Choral program. The group includes both vocal performance majors and talented singers from other fields. The choir has performed concert premiers at Walt Disney Concert Hall, and regularly collaborate with living composers. Auditions are required.
